A slow PC can have many common reasons but there can be other causes too like shorted patch cable, low memory, inaccurately set BIOS, or absence of system board drivers.
Numerous well-known problems are there which lead to a slow PC. These include low memory, a segmented hard disk, large number of active programs in the background, network congestion, inaccurately set anti-virus software and so on.
But, if an end-user has checked and sorted out such normal problems and despite that encounters a slow PC, then he should look into the following areas:
Limited patch cable
A computer that’s within a network can have low speed in case of a shorted patch cable since that creates hurdles in transmitting data to and fro.

Most computers have drivers by default that their system boards utilize. Such drivers are specific to system boards or are tailored for the hard disk operator. For a branded computer like Gateway or Dell, its drivers are present by default.
